Affengiel Boxers, Bedlington Terriers & Hamiltonstovare

About Us

Hi we are a family of Dog lovers based currently in WA.

Jason & Jacqui met in 1998, & this is when Jason had his first interaction with the beautiful Boxer breed. It was a case of love me love my dogs & the love affair has kept going.

I obtained my first Boxer in 1995, whilst living in Moranbah QLD. Chief, a red & tan male, was bought for showing & pet, sadly though he had a few Genetic Issues that I, as a novice who had not researched was unaware of.

In 1996 I met Dr Beth Thomas of Monksmeadow Boxers in Walkerston Qld. A lovelier lady you could not meet. She is so willing to share information & never spoke badly of another breeder or their kennels. Many many years of research has gone into her bloodlines & she is very caring of whom her puppies go to live with. Offering a lifetime of support for her puppy owners. Seeing her dedication & love for the breed developed my desire to breed for the betterment of the breed. After a few years of conversing with Beth I bought my next Boxer a red & white bitch Molly, who came to live with me in March 1998.

When we had our first child Lily, everyone said oh no don’t let the dogs near her! Well we did not heed any advice we were given and the day Lily came home from hospital she was laid down on a blanket & the dogs came inside. Their interaction with her was amazing, Chief who was about 38kgs at this stage walked very delicately around the blanket then laid down & crept so carefully to her sniffed her foot licked it & then laid beside her. Molly sat back & watched when Chief had settled she came & laid the other side & our 2 Boxers became our baby’s guardian always staying close, never playing rough & always staying between the pram & a stranger. They were also like this with our other children when they were born. Remaining great mates with the kids right up until the dogs passed onto Rainbow Bridge.

We welcomed Major into our homes & hearts in June 2004. During this time we really looked into what we wanted to do with our lives & our love of the Boxer. In November 2004 we decided that we would like to look at starting Kennels over the next few years. Devoting our love & obtained knowledge & put it towards producing Happy, Healthy Boxers for the betterment of the breed, and to be the most Ethical Breeders we could be. So henceforth our search of Breeders & Pedigrees began. We had already planned to sell our home in Queensland & relocate to NSW to be closer to my family & we had to organise our move to Wagga Wagga..

During this time Molly was battling Neospora & Epidermal Cancer.

Sarge came to live with us in April 2005 after we had moved to Wagga Wagga. He was (still is) such a beautiful boy.

Towards the end of May Molly started to deteriorate really quickly. We knew that the Chemo was no longer working and it was time to send her to the rainbow bridge with Chief.

After Molly’s passing we started on the show scene with Sarge … He performed reasonably well & we then entered into co-ownership of another brindle boxer a bitch called Nikki. Nikki came to us on the June long weekend, in 1 year we had a whole new Boxer family to that of two years previously. We entered into partnership in bringing a bobtail bitch Meg, over from the United Kingdom, thank you to Dr Bruce Cattanach from Steynmere Boxers for entrusting us with this beautiful girl.

As we have been campaigning our dogs we have bought a home & will be building our kennels for many more years to come. During this time our dogs have & will be an integral part of our lives.

We also ventured into a new breed for the ring as well and are very thankful to Bob & Erica Whitehead from Wurroit Bedlington Terriers for allowing a very special boy aptly named by Bob with the call name of Captain. Captain arrived in July 05 to our household & was met on a cold night at the Airport by three excited children screaming “captain oh captain” after spending most of the day traveling he emerged from the crate full of energy & hungry. We have the Bedlington Bug and he has settled well. And he has now achieved his Aust Ch title, In April 2007 joined by a Liver bitch courtesy of Wurroit once again. Thank you Bob & Erica for entrusting us with yet another of your babies!

In May 2007 we went on a search of a dog breed for Jason after looking at several different ones we were chosen by the Hamiltonstovare, several weeks of discussing & researching & then Coop came to join us, several weeks after that we had Cadence in our lives too! A big thank you to Sharen & Jody Beck @ Snovantage. The Hamiltonstovare is definitely Jason's Heart Breed, and with their relaxed laid back attitude they have slotted into family life with us very well.

You may notice as well that a lot of our pictures here are of our dogs playing, there may be a few “formal” posed shots BUT the majority of them will just be of our dogs hanging out. This is because this is what our dogs do 90% of the time, they are our family pets before they get all prettied up for the ring! Our photos as well aside from being resized are NOT photoshopped to “enhance” the appearance of either the human or the dog in the shot, what you see is what you get.
