Rainbow Bridge

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

The death of a pet is a very hard one to deal with. We have had to deal with two in a matter of 11mths and we have had to face two very different passings. With Chief his passing to the bridge was very fast & very unexpected. He went from being a ball of energy running around playing with his soccerball to being unable to move 2 hrs later. When I saw him laying in his favourite spot my stomach dropped, my heart went into my mouth & I started to cry, I knew in the way that you do that he was very very ill & this final rushed trip to the vet may very well result in him not coming home. Our very lovely vets at the time (Valley Vet Surgery – WALKERSTON) gave him immediate attention & an examination bought home our worst fears, Chief was bleeding internally from a burst tumor in his stomach area & losing a lot of blood a transfusion may not save him as he had already had one transfusion in his life & dogs can generally only handle one blood transfusion. We sat and talked it over agonised over the decision and decided to let him move to Rainbow Bridge with dignity. It has been the saddest day of my life so far and I still cry for him.

Molly’s death was just as hard, though we had time to prepare knowing that it was coming there was many tearful cuddles in the days leading up to her death. We loved our pets as we love our kids & still I will look at a picture & think of good times spent with them & shed a tear. Their gentle & loving natures has developed our love of the Boxer breed. Our kennels are our legacy to Chief & Molly, may our puppies bring people as much joy as they bought us.

The Rainbow Bridge Dedication

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,

that is where the pet goes

There are meadows and hills for all our special friends,

so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine,

and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigour,

those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again'

just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing........

they each miss someone very special to them....

who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together,

but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance:

His bright eyes are intent, his eager body begins to quiver.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group flying over the green grass,

his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet-

you cling together in a joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face,

your hands caress the beloved head

and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,

so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then---

you cross Rainbow-Bridge together
