It all started in 2000 when I was lucky enough to have the chance to buy my first westie, Domovay Bonnie Charlie, from Mrs A Marskell. Charlie did really well winning classes, Best of Breed, Best in Group and Class in Show awards. Charlie also earned the title of Australian Grand Champion easily. I was well and truly bitten by the show bug.
Ailton is our prefix which I took it from Charlie's Grandfather "Moirungu Hamilton", and his Great Grandmother "Australian Champion Backmuir April (imp UK) aka Ailsa". I felt it was nice to recognise his ancestors.
Then, the long awaited arrival of Moirungu Skara, bred by Mrs Jessie Beattie, occurred in 2003! From just a few weeks of age, we knew she was very special. Skara's heritage is remarkable as shown in her pedigree. Her sire is Australian Champion Moirungu Just Paddy and her dam is Australian Grand Champion Bendalock Blackfriars. Her parents are both Royal Challenge Winners. Special thanks to Jessie for allowing us the privilege of owning this bit of mischief. Another "thank you" to Jessie for her invaluable advice and ongoing support.
We bred our first litter in 2005, and just 13 months later made up our first home bred champion, Ailton Black Buttons. To date, we have bred four Australian Champions. Three of them came from the same litter including our first home-bred, All Breeds Best In Show winner, Grand Champion Ailton The Secret Is Out, and his litter sister, Champion Ailton Two Hot TwoHandle, who won Best of Breed under breed specialist, Mrs Lillian Lleton from Denmark. We still cannot believe the brother and sister did the double at the prestigous Royal Melbourne Show in 2008. This is something we never forget.
We are small and selective hobby breeder with strong interest in dog showing. We breed with the intention of improving our line in accordance with the breed standard. We pay close attention to breeding for the health of the breed and for the correct temperament of the breed. Our dogs are important part of our life. They live in the house with us and get plenty of attention. They are all happy, healthy and smart little dogs.
If you are interested in getting a puppy, we strongly suggest you to carefully think through the responsibility in the next 12-15 years. It is important that all family members agree to the long-term caring of the puppy. Please contact us early to avoid disappointment as we only breed occasionally so only a few puppies are available.
We hope you enjoy this site. Please feel free to email us if you have any queries.
