Liz and Mark
Hi, my name is Liz, I was born in Gothenburg, Sweden... too many years ago. We have had cairn terriers in our household since 1975 and before that Basset hound and Dachshound but I don't remember too much of them I was too young. Our cairns has been a part of my life all my growing up years so it was only natural to have a cairn as pet when I migrated to Australia 1989. Not the easiest breed to find but Jimmy found his way to us in the end.
The cairn career started in 1998. Exhibiting with bought and borrowed dogs and with a little breeding in between. Now I've started my own serious breeding program and bought two bitches and one dog from Rasken's kennel in Sweden in the hope to continue these great lines here in Australia. With a little luck, planning and co-operation with Towsytyke kennels in NSW and other breeders especially Highcroft here in WA I hope to breed a happy, healthy cairn that will be of high quality for show and companion.

I am home taking care of Anthony who was born on 23rd of April'04. A joy without comprehension to his mum and dad. Our little angel who, I think, is the only one that has been able to tame the untamable in Mark. The rest of the "crew" is Christoffer 21, Josephine & Jessica 17, Kieran 14 and Victor 9.
When time allows I make my own home made collars and sell online www.jewelledhound.com
Mark has his own successful business as a Real Estate Agent and has worked in the industry for 20 years. Born in Traralgon, Victoria. He came to Perth in 1988 for a holiday and never returned.
I would also like to mention that Mark was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia in June 2003. He has already survived his life expectancy of three years after diagnose and we just have to thank the new drug on the market, Glivec. Is this the cure?
We are quiet supporters of the Leukaemia Foundation and do regular donations to help and hoping there will one day be a cure.
We are both car enthusiasts and occasionally I do some sprints at Barbagallo while Mark is doing it a bit more serious. We did Perth Classic Rally together in 2003.
The stable consists of four cars a Brock VH Group 3, a Limited Edition Holden SS Wagon, VE R8 Clubsport, a XU1 Torana race car (which currently is being raced in the Eastern States Historic Touring Car Events) and last but not least a 1983 "work horse" Landcruiser.
Mark has recently given up his post as President after three years of the HSV Owners Club of WA which he enjoyed immensly but now his race car is taking up most of his spare time and this is what he wants to concentrate on at the moment. As it happens he now in late 2008 has taken on the post as President in WA Historic Car Club. A post he will again enjoy and work to the best of his abilities together with the committee.
Well this is the Jewell Team and I hope you will enjoy following us in the future,
Thank You for your time.
