Aust & NZ Ch BOHUNT TAWNY OWL

Tawny was the greatest blessing any aspiring kennel could wish for.  He came into our lives from a litter of three by NZ Ch Baywillow Sun An' Air - Imp UK, out of one of our homebred bitches, Ch Bohunt Corn Dolly.

He was a show pony from the earliest moments and learned to stack up by about 4 weeks of age.  He entered the ring for the first time at 3 months of age in Melbourne, Australia when the kennel travelled from NZ for a speciality show under Mr Ronald Irving, UK.  He handled the whole week with great enthusiasm and returned to NZ ready for his debut there.

Tawny took the NZ show scene by storm and week after week he was seen in the age group, in-show line up.  It wasn't long before he won his first of many groups - too many to mention - and then won puppy, after puppy in-show awards.  He was a real star. 

His first BEST IN SHOW was before his first birthday at a Terrier Speciality.  His second and third BEST IN SHOW were at ALL BREEDS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS with the 2nd one under a terrier specialist.  He also won Best Terrier Puppy and 3rd in Contest at the SUPREME PUPPY CONTEST and together we won Best Presented Dog and Handler.

He spent one year in Australia with the Sunset Kennel where he received his Australian Championship title and gave proprietors, Sandy and Rob Taylor, a taste of handling a wonder dog.

I was devastated to lose him at 5 years old, 1 BIS short of his NZ Grand Champion Title - which would have made him the first and only Border Terrier to achieve this.  Many have said it was a travesty that he died before this happened but to me he will always be the Grandest Border Terrier that I've ever had and the one that we all dream of owning.  I miss you wee man!
