***WELCOME*** TO THE HOME OF CASTLEPAK GREAT DANES
I LOVE my dogs! My husband, Marty, and I live on acreage that we share with our crew of Danes, including Dooley, Merlin, Oliver, Xander, Chelsea and new arrival, Macy. My first Dane was a black girl who died at the age of eleven whilst my husband and I were on our honeymoon. We were distraught and purchased another Dane puppy soon after. He was a blue called Cooper and I became interested in showing him. As is usually the case, your first show Dane isn't always your best and it soon became apparent to us that, although he was a gorgeous boy with a wonderful temperament, he would never amount to anything in the ring or for breeding. Cooper is now desexed. We love him to pieces and he is spoilt rotten!
I was extremely fortunate to be connected by a friend to the Bazzocco family who had just had a litter of pups. They entrusted me with Azadane Born A Lady (Tia) who is a wonderful fawn girl, and my foundation bitch. She achieved fantastic results in the show ring, so I was very keen to take on Azadane Born Holy Dooley (Dooley), her litter brother, when the Bazzoccos suggested he needed a show home.
Well....what a climb to the top! This flashy young dog has certainly made his mark and has nothing to prove to anyone! He won his first BIS at 15 months of age, immediately followed by two RUBISs. After twelve months of showing, he was over 700 points towards his Grand Champion title and has a long string of credits to his name. Together we have learnt so much about showing and conformation.
Our team had certainly won an impressive list of awards! Just to name a few....
GRAND CHAMPION Azadane Born Holy Dooley: GRAND CHAMPION at age three and a half years; Zone 2 Puppy Of The Year Winner; Zone 2 Dog Of The Year Qualifier and Finalist; string of Best In Shows
AUS CH Azadane Daring Wizard: BEST IN SHOW Winner of NSW Great Dane Club's Specialty Show in Nov 2005; Winner of back to back BEST IN SHOWS at Central Queensland Champ Show weekend; Winner of consecutive Dog Challenges at Toowoomba Royal 2005/2006
I could rave on for pages about how proud I am of my show Danes....but really, what counts is their temperament and delightful personalities. They make us laugh with their backyard antics, and not a day goes by when I don't feel blessed to be in their company. Who could ask for a better crew??
Thanks for visiting and I welcome any questions you may have. Cheers Janelle
