In December 1955,
the first four Chihuahuas were introduced into Australia by Mrs.
E.M.MacMahon of Victoria. It was with this bitch and the other three
original Chihuahuas that the famous "Chicdale" line was established.
Without fear of
contradiction, it can be said that 60% of Chihuahuas in Australia
today will have a Chicdale dog somewhere in their background. Mrs.
MacMahon founded the Victorian Chihuahua Club.
Today's Victorian
Chihuahua Club now holds five Members Competitions, one Championship
Show, one Open Show, and twelve Point Score Shows every year. The
results of these shows ultimately determine the winners of the prestigous
Titles: Longcoat Chihuahua of the Year and Smoothcoat Chihuahua
of the year.
