Opening photo shows our Ch. Tealpoint The Huntress in her prestigious National German Shorthaired Pointer Best In Specialty Show win 7/8th July 04 under Herr. J. Ecker (Austria) aged two and from the Intermediate bitch class. Five grand champions were exhibited, two dogs and three bitches. We are quietly proud of the baby girl and thank her breeder Heather Reynolds for planning the litter with her dam Ch. Tealpoint Brookland Mtn, and for allowing her to come to Coolhand.
Thanks also to Sue Wright for finding her for me and Sue and Joan Maxwell for importing her sire the outrageous and fabulous American Ch. and Grand Ch. Minado's American Express (Imp USA) Macky.
With the connections of this young lady, the best is yet to come. She is now the fourth straight generation National Specialty Best in Show winner from the sire line and the second winner for her grand dam line. Lena's sister is Grand Champion Tealpoint Hunt Underfire.
German Shorthaired Pointers are our pride and our passion. We hope to enthuse you with the same pride in this excellent breed of dog. Versatile hunting dogs, biddable, loyal, affectionate, starring in conformation shows, field and retrieving trials, obedience trials, agility trials, tracking trials, endurance tests, flyball trials and heelwork to music.

German Shorthaired Pointers were introduced into Australia in 1962 by Jack Thompson of Dunfriu Kennels in Victoria my home state. I purchased a male in 1974 of German breeding. Jim Malone and Michael Starow imported Arko Vom Urfftal (Germany) and Hummel v.d. Wacht Im Walde (Germany)- Arko siring a litter through the fabulous liver ORIGINAL Dual (F & Show Champion)Althof Anka Carat CD out of her daughter BISS Ch. Althof Astrid. My puppy became Ch. Althof Etzel UD QC "Luke" and he gained his UD in obedience, Show title and QC in retrieving trials and was six times Stud Dog of the Year and obedience Dog of the Year GSP Club Victoria. His progeny forged on and gained many titles, winning Novice dog obedience at Melbourne Royal and too many others to list.
30 years on and we have bred, owned and exhibited some 29 champions, Best and Runner up in Specialty show winners, many, many obedience titled dogs, a tracking champion, QC dogs, great hunting dogs and lots of puppies adored by their owners.
A truly versatile breed of dog.
