Contract of Purchase
Upon the sale of any puppy from Delsharla Basset Hounds, you will be provided with a "Puppy Kit" consisting of Care Instructions, Microchipping and Registration documents, Vaccination Certificate, a disc of photographs of the litter from birth to pick up and a Contract of Purchase. Also included in the Puppy Kit are Membership forms for both the NSW and Victorian Basset Hound Clubs, and a Membership form for the NSW Royal Canine Council as well as a two to three day supply of food for your new aquisition and a list of training tips for your new puppy.
I ALSO PROVIDE SIX WEEKS OF PET INSURANCE TO COVER YOUR PUPPY FOR THE FIRST SIX WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE - WITH MANY THANKS TO PET PLAN FOR PROVIDING SUCH A WONDERFUL SERVICE.
This contract should be self explanatory but for those of you who may not "get it", it is designed for the protection of the puppy or dog itself. I have decided to include a sample of the Contract of Purchase on this website so that potential purchasers understand my commitment to this wonderful breed of dog.
Please note: That this Contract can be subject to change at the Breeder's discretion. CONTRACT OF PURCHASE
1. This contract is binding and made with the best interest and betterment of the Basset Hound Breed, wherein further mention of the puppy or dog will hereinafter be referred to as the animal.
2. The purchaser MUST agree to have the animal checked by their own Veterinarian within the first three (3) working days after pickup of the animal for their own satisfaction. If for any reason the purchaser is unhappy with their new animal and within the first three (3) working days after purchase and pickup, the purchaser MUST make contact with the breeder within those first three (3) working days and they may return the animal to the breeder and receive a refund of their purchase price providing the animal is returned to the breeder in the same condition and health as the purchaser received it in. The refund of purchase price excludes any costs incurred by the breeder for the return of the animal including but not limited by transportation costs and relevant transfer costs of paperwork.
3. If the purchaser as made the decision to keep the animal and not exercise their right for refund subject to Clause 2 above (and within the first three (3) working days after purchase) that the purchaser agrees to pay for any and all of any future costs associated with that animal’s condition currently present or not.
4. All animals not sold as Show Dogs will be on Limited Register. Limited Register enables the new owner to compete at Agility and Tracking events and the like but they will not be able to compete in Conformation/Breed Classes nor will they be able to breed with the animal.
5. Any purchaser buying an animal on the Limited Register must agree to have said animal spayed/neutered/desexed by the age of 6 months, without exception and as a Condition of Purchase.
6. All animals sold as Show Dogs will be on the Main Register and incur a further $400.00 payment on top of the purchase price of an animal Registered on the Limited Register. Also, the breeder of any animal sold as a Show Dog will remain on the Registration Papers for the said animal along with the new purchaser in a 50/50 share until such time as the animal has reached Australian Championship status whereby the Breeder agrees to transfer Registration Papers solely to the purchaser.
7. Subject to Clause 6 above, he purchaser agrees to pay for ALL costs involved in – including but not limited by – ALL responsibilities in the raising, keeping, care and showing of the animal for the duration of that animal’s life time starting from the moment of purchase and including covering all said costs during the time that the animal is being shown and accumulating its Australian Championship points.
8. The purchaser must undertake that if for any reason in the future their circumstances change and it is necessary to find another home for the animal that they will contact the breeder of said animal and allow the breeder the opportunity to assist in re-homing it if necessary. That the purchaser understands that if this does occur, they agree to allow the breeder to do so without any re-imbursement to the purchaser for the original purchase cost of the animal.
9. The purchaser must agree that they will and have provided a safe, well fenced and secure yard for the animal to reside in and also MUST agree to read the Care Instructions that have been provided with the sale of every animal by the breeder as part of the Conditions of Purchase.
10. Having read the abovementioned conditions of purchase, the purchaser understands that the breeder has undertaken these measures to ensure the well being of the animal is catered to and is of utmost importance.
11. The purchase agrees to sign and date below for confirmation.
