Our Baby Girl Jazmin
IN LOVING MEMORY OF JAZMIN30/08/2001 TO 12/08/2009We waited along time for Jazmin to come into our lives and boy was she worth the wait. Jazmin was born on the 30th of August 2001 and from the moment we had the call from Lillian and Ian Shaw (her breeders) that she had come into the world we were just itching to go and see her. We had to be patient but finally got to meet her for the first time when she was just 13 days old. It was love at first sight. We went back for more visits until we were finally able to bring her home with us. Of course as first time parents she was spoilt rotten and had the best of everything. She slept in our room the first night, just in case she needed us, but of course it was us that needed her with us. She was our perfect angel. Jazmin was the light of our life and we decided to work up the courage and put her in the show ring. She took to it, like a duck to water. She loved running and showing off and while it is never easy showing a rare breed, she took everyone by surprise when she was just 18 months old and took Intermediate in Group and Intermediate in Show. She was the first Kangal Dog to ever be awarded at group and show level. She later went on to receive Runner up in Group and Australian Bred in Group at two seperate shows. It was an on going battle with her litter brother for Best of Breed awards at shows and they always seemed to take it in turns. She reached her Australian Title but sadly did not achieve her Grand Championship Title as she was retired in November 2008 with her final win of Vetran in Group at the Beaudesert Kennel Club Show. Jazmin had one beautiful litter of 5 puppies on the 5th of April 2006, from which we kept her beautiful daughter Lilly. While her litter was not a smooth one, she was an excellent Mum and she wanted to mother her neices and nephews when her sister Rose had her litter in August 2007. We found out in December 2008 that Jazmin was not well and was only given at the most 6 months to live by the vet. She was put on medication and for a short time seemed to go back to her normal happy self. She had her good days and bad, but we knew that we would have to make a hard decission in the near future. Eventually Jazmin's bad days out numbered the good days. We did not want her to suffer and we made the choice to say goodbye to our baby girl. We were there when she left us and all her Kangal family on the 12th of August 2009. We had longer than the vet thought, but it would still never be long enough for us. Jazmin will be with us forever and will never be forgotten. A sincere thank you to Pets in Peace for looking after her and for bringing her back to us. A big thank you to our friends and family for there support and understanding. We miss you baby girl and we hope you are having fun with Grandma Lillian. Until we meet again.
