About Us
The Red Devils agility team was formed in 2006 when Irish Terrier owners Vicki, Tom & Pamela decided to pool the 'talents' of their five Irish Terriers and showcase this versatile breed by competing as a single breed team in agility and jumping events. The Red Devils comprises Murphy, Kushti, Finn, Nuala, Kelsey and associate member, Darcy. Although lacking the speed of the Border Collies and Kelpies, the Irish Terriers have become firm favourites with their happy natures, loads of character and the occasional desire to completely ignore their handlers and do their own thing! Individually the dogs compete in agility trials throughout Western Australia and often find themselves competing against each other but there is no better moment than seeing one of the Red Devils winning a rosette and a step towards another coveted agility title. Kushti & Nuala have also competed successfully as a pair in Strategic Pairs competetions. Murphy went to the Agility Nationals in Canberra in 2004. Murphy,Kelsey and Finn competed in the Perth Nationals in 2005 and Kushti, Finn & Nuala all competed in the 2007 National Agility Championships held in Adelaide in May where both Kushti and Nuala did their owners proud by qualifying for the National Novice Agility Final. The Red Devils are very fortunate to have the ongoing support of both of Western Australia's Irish Terrier Breeders. Neridah Sharrett of Anluan Kennels and Liz Walmsley of Coolaney Kennels are the Red Devils' greatest fans and often come along to agility events to cheer on their home grown stars.
