YELLOWSAND LABRADOR RETRIEVERS & SHAUNDAR WORKING DOGS

Our Champions Page

We are proud to showcase the Champions which have been bred by Shaundar Kennels and also those who have been owned by Shaundar Kennels and have attained their Championship Title -

MAY 2000     Australian Champion Shaundar Dream Came True - aged just 19 months of age Holley was our first Home Bred Champion.  Her career saw her win many breed, group and show awards and she was award LRCQ Show Bitch of the Year for 2000, 2003, Runner Up Show Bitch for 2002.  At age 9 she is now enjoying her well earned retirement at home with us and her mother (Tenarda Absolutely).

MAY 2000 Australian Champion Napier Suchaman - This beautiful big black dog spent his show days up against some extremely tough and excellent competition but finally gained his title by winning Best of Breed.  Tyson was the first black dog we campaigned and he was a dog that loved being shown and had a great attitude towards showing.  Once retired from showing Tyson and one of our girls Tasha went to live with a family who had a young child who needed help to stand up and these 2 dogs helped her with this and became her constant companions.

AUGUST 2000  Australian Champion Southbank Storm Warning - after purchasing this lovely yellow dog from Southbank Kennels in 1999, Cooper gained his Championship Title quickly and loved being shown.

AUGUST 2004 Australian Champion Shaundar High Society - following in her mother's footsteps (Shaundar Dream Came True) Tina quickly gained her Title even though she was not seriously shown until she was just over 12 months of age.  She was Runner Up Show Bitch of the Year for 2004 for LRCQ.  Tina's progeny are gaining their Championship titles both in Australia and overseas and very young ages also.  Tina is retired from showing and keeps her mother and grandmother company at home.

DECEMBER 2004 Australian Champion Shaundar High Impact - Quest was a multi baby puppy, minor and puppy breed, group and show award winner and has also done exceptionally well winning Dog Challenge & RUBOB at the Brisbane Ekka in 2005 and Reserve Challenge in 2005 he is lovingly owned and shown by Louise Henzell from Scolouvalley Labradors.

APRIL 2005 AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPION Helabar Next of Kin - Tully surpassed everyones expectations when he won all that there was to win in 2003.  Best in Group Awards, Best in Group at Toowoomba Royal, Best in Show at the Labrador Show in July, Best of Breed at Brisbane Royal with his half sister (Shaundar Dream Came True) winning Bitch Challenge and RUBOB and at the end of 2003 winning LRCQ Show Dog of the Year.  Tully had a great year and 2004 continued to be his year, but some of our other dogs stepped in towards the end of 2004 and made him work for his Grand Title in April 2005.  Tully's Breeders Barry & Helen Adam were present at the show which saw him gain his Grand Championship Title.  Tully enjoys retirement with a great family who have made him the centre of their world and spoil him but he has earned it.  You were a great mate and you are missed around here (especially by your girls).

JUNE 2005 -   Australian Champion Southbank Black Market - Jag had not been shown until mid-late 2004 and started being shown at the time we were titling 3 other dogs.  He quickly gained his Championship Title and along the way was a multiple group and in show winning dog.  Jag won LRCQ Metropolitan Show Dog of the Year and the Waglett Trophy for excellence in Showing and 2005 also saw some of his progeny starting to be shown.

OCTOBER 2005 - Australian Champion Shaundar Stand Alone - Alfie was a yellow son of Helabar Next of Kin / Shaundar Dream Came True and he was the only yellow pup in the litter.  This dog not only stood out because of his colour but he captured our hearts and the hearts of many a judge.  He quickly gained his Title in October 2005 at only 17 months of age and his show career also saw him win numerous breed, group and in show awards.  Alfie now lives in China with friends of ours and is being shown by them and he is continuing to do very well.

AUGUST 2006 - AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPION Southbank Black Market - 2006 was a big year for Jag and us!  He gained his GRCH Title in under 18 months of showing and also won LRCQ Show Dog of the Year, Metropolitan Show Dog of the Year and the Waglett Trophy again.  Jag was also Dogzonline Number 1 Labrador in Australia for 2006.  Jag also won a Best in Show Under a Gundog Specialist during 2006.

SEPTEMBER 2006 - Australian Champion Silverstream Silky Gold - Honey gained her title by winning a Best of Breed after being shown sparingly as a puppy and not taking long to gain her title.  She is now living in a loving family home.

OCTOBER 2006 - Obedience Champion Shaundar She's My Girl - congratulations to Bob Barron for the work put into this lovely lady who was from the last litter from our foundation bitch Tenarda Absolutely to gain her Obedience Title.

OCTOBER 2006 - Singapore Champion Shaundar Solidarity - Scooby was originally sent to Singapore as a family pet.  He was a dog we had run on ourselves and when the enquiry was for a dog who could handle living in an apartment we knew that he was the dog for them as he was a dog who had been house trained and was an extremely adaptable young dog, so at 5 months of age he was exported to Singapore.  We were asked if we minded if he was shown as some show people had seen him and suggested that he be taken to dog shows and he was and Pauline got herself a professional handler and in October 06 Scooby became a Champion by winning Best of Breed and Reserve in Group.  He is still shown occassionaly but he is still their family pet which was their initial intention.

JUNE 2007 - Australian Champion Chasers Monsier Poirop (Imp NZ) - Andre has been living with Cath Wardle for approx. 18 months and in that time Cath has had a lot of fun with Andre.  He gained his title in June 2007 and in July 2007 we signed Andre over to Cath as his owner.  Cath has done all the work to gain Andre's title and we are proud to have been in partnership with Cath but felt that with the work she has done with him she deserved to own him outright.  Andre went on to win the LRCQ Country Show Dog and Country Show Labrador of the Year for 2007.  So all in all they have made a great team together for the year and first show in 2008 sees Andre win a 17 point best of Breed.  Thanks for looking after him for us Cath.

JULY 2007 - Indonesian Champion Shaundar Black Shadow - Angus is a beautiful black dog from Shaundar Dream Came True's final litter.  This dog gained his title against some really great competition and we thank his owners for doing such a wonderful job with him.  Angus has now sired some lovely puppies in Indonesia.

DECEMBER 2007 - Australian Champion Shaundar Black Tycoon - congratulations to Gill (Bremaroo Labradors) and Morphious on gaining his Championship Title.  Morph is a Southbank Black Market/Shaundar High Society son out of the same litter as Shaundar Solidarity.

JANUARY 2008 - Australian Champion Shaundar Empressa - Matilda is another pup from our first mating of GRCH Southbank Black Market / Ch Shaundar High Society and the 3rd Champion to date from this litter.  Matilda is Sue Riseley's first show dog and despite having to work most week-ends she has done a stellar job gaining Matilda's title.

FEBRUARY 2008 - Australian Champion Shaundar Wind Dancer - Our lovely Paige has now gained her Title after limited showing, but with the help of some friends.  Cath Wardle from Burrumtravis Labradors kindly showed Paige for several months during 2007 and when she returned Denise Yates has handled Paige exceptionally well for the balance of her points for her Title.  Paige will now take on the role of Motherhood in the near future - but as she loves showing so much and gives her all she will still be shown for some time.

JUNE 2009 - Australian Champion Shaundar Rising Sun - Eve gained her title on Sunday 14 June 2009 just 2 days short of her second birthday, but winning BOB.  She is a joy to own and gives me a lot of pleasure to show and more pleasure to own and have with me at home.  Look forward for more enjoyment with her.

JULY 2009 - Australian Champion Shaundar Northern Raider - Monty gained his Australian Championship title on Saturday 18 July 2009 winning BOB at Rockhamption Show.  Cath and Chloe (and on the odd occassion myself) have enjoyed showing Monty who is typical of an easy going labrador to show.  He has the most wonderful of temperaments and lets anyone work with him.  The Northern Queensland team have done a wonderful job of gaining Monty's title.  Good luck Cath wih his continued success and another Shaundar Champion.

JANUARY 2010 - Australian Champion Shaundar Anothr Crusader - Darcy attained his Australian Championship title on Sunday 3 January 2010 at Maryborough Kennel Club.  Congratualtions to Sue Riseley for her second Shaundar Champion.  Well Done Sue and Darcy.  We look forward to seeing Darcy and Sue in the ring in 2010.  Well done on a great result.
