TANOME ALASKAN MALAMUTES

In Loving Memory

This page is dedicated to the special dogs that we have been lucky enough to share our lives with.

They have left their mark on our hearts and remain in our memories forever.

Aust. Grand Champion Niltaran Baskin Neumnik (A) WPD ROA*

(* AMCV - Register Of Achievement)

"Kwella"

16.05.94 - 23.03.06

Every now and then a dog comes along with that "special something" and Kwella was one of those dogs.  She hit the show ring with a huge bang, easily obtaining her Australian Champion title from the Puppy class.  Kwella was also the VERY FIRST GRAND CHAMPION IN AUSTRALIA (all breeds).

Kwella always gave the boys a run for their money, more often than not, beating them for Best of Breed.  Kwella's achievement list is just far too long to mention, however everyone who knew Kwella knows she always walked away from the show ring with something.

Colin and Kwella were the "ultimate package".  Kwella always gave 110% and was the perfect show girl.  Colin knew how to bring out the best in her and they were unstoppable.

Kwella only produced the one litter, which gave us our special girl "Meeka" who possesses all Kwella's wonderful attributes, including that cheeky, look at me attitude that Kwella was so well known for.

Kwella, you were definitely "ONE IN A MILLION!"

In our hearts and memories forever.

Aust. Ch. Midnitemoon Grey Bandit WPD WWPD ROA*

(* AMCV - Register Of Achievement)

"Bandit"

12.10.95 - 12.09.06

Bandit came into my life in December 1995 as an 8 week old bundle of trouble, and it was then that my love, passion and addiction to this magnificent breed began.

Bandit was only ever intended as a pet, I never had any thought of showing or anything else for that matter.  However, after attending a few AMCV workshops and meeting some wonderful committee members, my mind soon changed.

Bandit was quite successful in the show ring, attaining his Australian Champion title with ease, picking up some rather large Challenges along the way.  Bandit and I then had a go at Backpacking and Weight-pulling and, "surprise surprise", he enjoyed them more than showing.  Bandit successfully attained both his WPD and WWPD titles.  We also participated in the racing, but Bandit ran in typical Malamute style (a slow, steady gait), so winning races was not on the achievement list!

Bandit had his fair share of health problems - Hip Dysplasia, "Coat Funk" and a Grade 3 heart murmour to name just a few.  However, that never stopped him from living life to the fullest.  Bandit always had a smile on his face and enjoyed doing anything that involved interaction with people.  He loved to be the centre of attention, and he let you know if he felt he was being left out!

On the 12th September 2006, exactly 1 month shy of celebrating his 11th birthday, I said goodbye to my best friend and soulmate for the last time.  Run free my sweet, special boy, until the day comes when you can stand by my side again.

In our hearts and memories forever.
