There are some great books on this breed ,one I found very interesting was COLBY'S BOOK OF THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER , by LOUIS . B. COLBY It tells how the AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER was developed from the PIT BULL , what dogs were used and also letters from the AKC on their registation in becoming a recognised breed in the comformation showring.
