About Us
At Bronacre we consistently breed quality animals concentrating on soundness and temperament. Quality does not occur by chance, at Bronacre we make it happen. Bronacre German Shepherd Kennel was established in 1984 by Edwina Kibble. It is now operated by Edwina and Peter Neale who are members of the Victorian Canine Association and the German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria. Norma Meaney shares our passion for showing our dogs and is our partner in our kennel.
It is a very small kennel keeping only a few quality dogs. We believe German Shepherd Dogs are very individual animals and do not deserve to be kept in large numbers. The kennel has built a reputation for breeding quality pets and show animals throughout Australia.
Bronacre Diamond Dust and Bronacre Topaz were our first animals to be breed surveyed and to gain the grading of Excellent in the 80's. Bronacre to date has bred many National and Main breed show winners including the Excellent Select graded animal - Seigeren Ch. Bronacre Ramoth.
We had the pleasure of campaigning the most successful dual purpose dog of his time. *Tannenholz Lido Class 1. 'A' Excellent. Excellent Obedience. Lido was highly placed in the National Show gaining 5th in Junior Dog and 6th in Open Dog in extremely tough competition in the '80's. On both occasions Lido was also Best in Trial and gained the Gold Medals in Obedience.
As well as supplying quality family pets and show dogs to all over Australia and overseas homes, Bronacre dogs are competing successfully in obedience competition, tracking, search and rescue and working in the police force. We have supplied other successful kennels with their foundation stock.
Success does not come by chance. In the past we purchased top class foundation stock to work with and bred carefully with only the best stock. We believe quality produces quality and will not compromise. Our foundation bitches were:
*Tannenholz Mausi 'A' – a full German bitch by *Star vom Natoplatz and *Gitte vom Aiwald.
*Hagenstolz Hi Noon ‘A’ ‘Z’ Excellent by the Seiger - CH. Quincito Awol and Seigeren - CH. Landrina Majic Melody.
Our most famous dog was the legendary *CH. Hasenway Wild Knight E.T. ‘A’ ‘Z’ H-Neg. who we had the honour of whelping, raising and campaigning at Bronacre for his entire life.
Most of our stock descends from these animals.
Our current show dogs are our National winners - Bronacre Imogen and Bronacre Knight Moves (who is owned and campaigned by Vanessa Stocks. All our dogs have been successfully shown and are all class winners and Excellent Graded. The next generation of Bronacre will soon hit the show ring - Bronacre Hot Agenda and Bronacre Hot Summer Knight will make their debut in 2011.
